As electronic musicians ourselves, we, at Fingerlab, have developed this app with the intention of delivering the perfect mix between fun playability and powerful sonic capacities. I used only DM1 sounds and exported 3 beat tracks from DM1 - mixed together in Auria added some FXs - then final mix and uploaded via MultiTrack DAW.Discovering the right Music app for your needs is hard, which is why we are happy to give you DM1 - The Drum Machine from Fingerlab. Lastly, with the last update that means there is still free and better functionality coming out for this app too! Try it out I think it is worth a try!Ĭheck out my first attempt at a song using DM1 Drum Machine I think I kinda like how it turned out I think I will try to make another one!… In the end I can still make some beats, export and use DM1 to add extra spice to my music if it calls for it. Dispite the complaints I find that I can work around most of them, some more annoying than the rest. It would also be nice to have different bit/sample rates available too. Lastly you only have about 9 instruments to work with at a time for one set though you can swap out an instrument with another kit still a bit limiting in my opinion. The export options are a bit limited as well but with the newest update got a bit better (You now have the option of exporting to stereo split tracks). Some of the things that I find to be a problem is the export function causes it to crash and requires an iPad reboot in order to recover this happens quite frequently. It also has a randomize function that allows you to randomize the pitch volume and pan of your tracks which can take something you programmed and turn it into something unexpectedly good or unexpected bad but cool none the less!Ĭons. You can also change the pitch, volume and pan of the different instruments as well. ![]() ![]() ![]() It has some FXs that you can apply to your track though I personally find them to be not really that great to use. You are able to setup a measure or two at a time that is numbered and in the song area you sequence these measures together. I find the interface to be easy to use, easy to program in your beats and patterns. These include good ‘ol retro drum machines back in the 80’s to accoustic drum samples to completely non drum electronic sounds, you have a surprising amount of choice that all comes stock. It has multiple drum sets to choose from. Finger Lab’s DM1 Drum Machine is a pretty good drum machine application for the iPad. What heck since I use the app I may as well write a small review on it! ![]()
